Ashley’s expertise comes from Bi monthly travel to New York or South Florida to visit family with her two girls, Bobbie (4) and Ellie (2). She is well versed in the best way to get from point A to B in record time with minimal fuss!
-
When possible, drive during nap time or overnight to keep kids in their routines. If driving during the day she recommends taking frequent breaks to stop and stretch everyone’s legs at a park or playground! If you are traveling through North and South Carolina and need recommendations of play spaces to stop at, send Sarah a message and she can give you some ideas!
-
Bring lots of activities! From playing I-spy to coloring books, you can never have to many choices of activities during a long car or plane ride. Looking for new coloring pages? Check out a few of our favorite playgrounds turned into coloring pages!
-
Snacks make everything better, make sure to pack plenty! The girls recommend gold fish, M&Ms, and Veggie straws for your travels.

April’s a new Mom to Allie! Allie is quite the traveler in her young age and has already been to multiple site visits, a playground opening, on a plane or two, and to her first conference! April’s tips are focused on kiddos that are less than a year old.
-
Travel stroller, preferably one that fits in an overhead compartment if traveling on an airplane. It takes up less space in the trunk of a car and can be used to “tote” stuff around the airport. Also, one handed opening/closing capabilities is so satisfying.
-
Pack extra! Make sure you have double the amount of diapers/wipes/outfits than normal (be prepared for possible blowouts)! For ease of changing, have a small “go bag” with a few diapers/wipes/change of clothes that you can take into bathrooms so you aren’t lugging around a big diaper bag.
-
Baby carrier – strap that baby in! This allows your hands to be free for other things and can be used for on the go napping – also counts as tummy time if you have an infant!
-
Don’t over pack “toys” - most young kids are interested in everyday things, think car keys, remotes, etc.
