Featured Nature Themed Playground: Rock Ridge Park

Bears, foxes, and eagles oh my! These are just some of the animals that are featured at the new playground at Rock Ridge Park in Pittsboro, NC. This creative equipment is designed and manufactured by Playit Creations, one of our newest equipment partners. This space is sure to spark the imagination of users and caregivers alike. The new design occupies a similar footprint to the previous equipment, however, the new equipment is made out of Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) and built to last compared to the previous wooden structure which was highly susceptible to deterioration over time. Inspiration was taken from the playground's secluded woodland setting. In addition to the main play structure, a collection of botanical outdoor musical instruments by Percussion Play was included to further highlight the natural theme.

We are lucky to have this beautiful park mere minutes from our office and are grateful to have worked with Pittsboro Parks and Recreation Director Katy Keller on this project. “Our goal was to preserve the park's natural atmosphere while enhancing the play experience. Thanks to April's guidance, we've added new features like a mushroom tunnel and nature musical equipment, providing fun for all ages. What was once a "hidden gem" is now a vibrant community hub.
